Yesterday I was with Jeffrey Clyde at the wetland. Jeff spotted the bird and we were able to observe it at close quarters for a long time as it fed on a bare patch of ground. To the left of the track leading down to the Fulica hide is a small
hill with some derelict wire fencing on top. The bird was feeding behind the fencing. It seemed unconcerned by our presence.
