I mentioned the local fmouth in the A Magpie nest.  Closer examination shows this nest to be a good example of magpie trade-skills.  There is a lot of wire incorporated, fencing wire, electrical wire, clothes-line wire and utility small wire.  In the b&w photo on the right I have traced and coloured the wires that are visible, although most are thoroughly embedded in the overlaid natural material. The current magpie nest (with young) is about 30m away.
