The ponds at the rear of the Cotter Road works depot yesterday morning
were home to 19 pink eared ducks, and 8 Hardheads either in the water or
resting on the middle barrier. Also seen on the shore of the second
pond a pair of Black fronted Plovers. A Pallid Cuckoo was feasting from
the plentiful supply of caterpillars in the vicinity of the playground
near Stromlo Cottage. When I returned again this morning Pink eared and
Hardheads were still there but in reduced numbers.

Cheers

Rod
