Born Isaac Eduardo Schnitzer, in Silesia ( present Poland ) was a man of varied
and prodigious talents, certainly worth looking up in Google.

The first correct answer was unsurprising someone who invariably shows a “ dab
“ hand in puzzles of this nature.

During his service with the British colonial administration in Africa in
various capacities he was also a collector of fauna and flora, with specimens
sent to Europe.

Stanley of Livingstone fame lead an expedition ( public ally funded ) starting
from the mouth of the Congo River in West Africa to extricate him from
Equatoria ( Egypt ) which took about two years only to find Emin Pasha very
reluctant to leave.

Finally, I would like to add a commercial for the recently concluded Lifeline
Spring Bookfair.
My information about this bird came from a wonderful 600 page book entitled
Birds and People by Mark Cocker, as new, costing a princely $ 5.
