Hi Alison,
I would assume that the bird was banded by Jerry Olsen from the University of Canberra. If someone still has the bird and bands I can come and pick it up early tomorrow afternoon and remove the bands. I have also copied your email to the Australian Bird
and Bat Banding Scheme. They will forward the relevant banding information on to you, or if you know the name of the ranger, please give me his name.
Thanks for reporting the bird.
Cheers,
Mark

A ranger found this dead bobook owl at the ANBG this afternoon. It was
banded - green over red as in the photo. ID number was 101-30859 and PO Box
8.
Does anyone know who was/is running this project?
Alison
