Hello Lyndel,
Sorry to hear of this. Thanks for letting us know. Geoff was a member of COG for a long time (I don’t know from what year) and although he did not go to a lot
of meetings recently (I don’t know about outings), he led at least one pelagic trip that I went on, that COG had, several years ago he certainly retained an interest. I guess I have missed the opportunity to clarify whether that was a Black Petrel or a Westland
Petrel that we saw that day. I last saw him at Woden centre about 2 months ago and we stopped to chat about whatever bird stuff caught his interest, and various people things, who is doing what etc. He was interested in what has happened to the world bird
database that John Penhallurick (another COG member) had developed and what had happened after motor neurone disease - and dying - prevented John’s continuing.......

Good morning,
I'm Geoff Duggan's daughter, Lyndel. If you haven't heard already, we apologise in advance for letting you know this way and hope you don't mind me sending you an email however, our dearest and much loved Geoff passed away very suddenly
at the Canberra Hospital this week. We know he loved being a part of CanberraBirds and he was an avid bird watcher to the point of spending a lot of time in my backyard trying to spot a rare owl recently. He very much enjoyed friendship with many of you and
so we wanted to let you know personally.
A funeral service will be held next week, details in Saturday’s paper.
PS. I did try to send you an email through my own email address however, it was blocked as I am not a member so, as P of A for Geoff am sending via this account.
Warm regards
Lyndel
