Hi Dimitris - AIS near the stadium is excellent for Superb Parrots. I live in Bruce, two streets back from the AIS and very regularly hear them flying over. I usually see them drinking and feeding near the drainage area that runs parallel with the car park along Braybrooke Street. Good luck!

Can confirm that ANU is indeed good for Gang Gangs, especially at the student residence Burton and Garran Hall, on 49 Daley Rd. They've been feeding the birds there for over a decade, and so flocks of up to 50 birds come in each morning between 7-10am.

Diamond firetail, grey currawong, and southern whiteface are all possible, but not regularly seen, in Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo reserves.

Hi there,

I am planning a trip to the ACT for a friend from the 8-10th of September. He has a handful of target species and as I haven't lived in the ACT for a while I thought I'd double check to see if my locations are still good.

Gang Gang Cockatoo- ACT Botanical Gardens and ANU campus

Superb Parrot- Kama Nature Reserve- I Had flocks of 30+ there in 2016 with some breeding going on.

Speckled Warbler- North Mulligan's Flat Reserve

Grey Currawong- Googong Damn- Abundant there, but Any places closer to ACT?

Southern Whiteface- Googong Damn- Two birds back in 2016, any places closer to the ACT?

Diamond Firetail- Kama Nature Reserve, but they really aren't doing to well

Australian Little Bittern/Painted Snipe- any recent sightings?

Pink Robin- In the Botanical Gardens bird still present?

Any particularly good birdy locations up and about atm?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Cheers,

D.
