It wasn’t there today, but I did find the Crested Shrike-tits.

I also saw the Freckled Duck at Bimbi Beach yesterday around lunchtime.  I didn’t have my camera with me.

After the Black-eared Cuckoo earlier in the year, and then the Avocets, I was not expecting anything out of the usual at Bimbi Beach (on the eastern side of Lake Ginninderra peninsula) today. But to my surprise at lunchtime today,  there was a lone Freckled Duck paddling amongst the coots and moorhens and swamphens and wood ducks. A “first” for me at the lake in 38 years. b
