A particularly handsome Olive-backed Oriole was drinking from our bird-bath in our back yard a few minutes ago. We had a frost this morning, but it seemed very relaxed. I checked the records for the date of the last sighting of the year, and see that, since
2009, this is no big deal. But as we go back in history, the dates tend to get earlier and earlier for the last sighting. So it would seem that the Oriole is a subscriber to the global warming hypothesis. Or is it just an evolutionary thing, and their insulation
is becoming more effective.
