I used to hear one a couple of years ago. Then about two months ago a grey butcherbird started daily visits to my bird bath. It was after I scrubbed out the bowl - I've heard they prefer clean water. The other birds steer well clear of him...

Perched five metres from our back door yesterday afternoon before flying off to a new vantage point. Only the second one of the species I’ve recorded in our garden in over thirty years.
