Powerful Owls have been heard calling near Cuumbeun Nature Reserve (top of the Queanbeyan escarpment) for the past several weeks.  Last evening I and a couple of other local observers heard a female calling between 0615 and about 0625, presumably  before she set off to harass the local possums and gliders.
