Therefore it has remained a native bird of Britain, now augmented by 're-wilded' birds, esp in populated areas. I am very familiar with say the ones breeding along the Thames from Oxford to Windsor and yes they are quite used to people, along
with the Canada Geese and Egyptian Geese which share the same habitat. Hunting pressure is off, given the supermarket chook is now easier and cheaper to obtain.
