My immediate guess is that the airport will object to this as they seem to do to anything that competes with their activities (eg attracting businesses away from their buildings).
New Acton, the previous big project by the Molonglo Group, is quite an interesting place so they might actually do something worthwhile. And worldwide there are a lot of examples of good
birding sites in urban settings (Central Park NYC is a stand out, but there are many others).
I think it would be good for COG to make contact with them to establish a line of direct communication at an early stage, rather than rely on Wetlands management or Canberra Nature to do
so,
