Because of the interest in Noisy Friarbirds I mention that I saw about 6 Noisy Friarbirds along Uriarra Road on 13 February. They seemed to be at home here, along with what I thought was probably a small feeding flock and a family of 3 King Parrots.  This was during a dry time and all the birds I watched were near a dam.  There was no rain from 31 January to 19 February.

I have just noticed many of them around my home yesterday and today, after being unusually absent or nearly so, for most of summer.

Probably driven out of the Brindabellas by the huge prescribed burns.

About week ago I reported that the NF had suddenly disappeared from around my residence in Watson - well they’re back again in big numbers. Red Wattlebird numbers have remained throughout.
