I looked down into the Queanbeyan Poo Pits this morning, for the first time for several months, and was quite astonished at how few birds there were. There were at least 6 Darters around
- 5 on a pontoon and another calling up near the Forbidden Zone. An empty nest was visible on the pontoon with the Darters but two nests on the other pontoon were occupied by Great Cormorants. One of the birds stirred itself revealing at least one - very
young - chick in the nest.
