This old man came into drink at one of the Black Mountain Nature Reserve dams on one of the recent very hot days. Note the battle-scarred ears. The pink tongue is mopping up water from around the muzzle. Over the hour or so that I was sitting by the dam, not many birds joined him. A Leaden Flycatcher came in for a bathe; a Common Bronzewing and an Australian Raven came in for a drink. regards Con Attachment:
