Hi All,

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year!

The little Red-capped Robin family located near Yerrabi Pond is doing well in spite of their location being in a fairly busy area.

I watched the male feeding his offspring a week ago ... rather large grub ... little juvenile ... the grub was dropped on numerous occasions but the juvenile eventually managed to eat the large mouthful! (Photos of the saga on Flickr... fascinating watching them...)

I also watched them two days ago, with the male continuing to feed the juvenile.

Other enjoyable sights - 6 Superb Parrots feeding in trees at Yerrabi two days ago  and numerous White-plumed Honeyeaters including juveniles and an adult feeding chicks in a nest...

Out of Area ... a trip to Barren Grounds at the end of last week produced a new bird for Alison and I ... Southern Emuwren (photos on Flickr) .... missed out on the Ground Parrot in spite of very early starts and very late finishes to our days.

For anyone interested  ... Red-capped Robins, Superb Parrots, Emuwren (have to scroll back a little way) etc...

Cheers
Julie
