I also heard one only yesterday in Bonython. I don’t remember ever having heard one around there.

We usually have one lonesome male in Florey (Elkington Street) but this year we have four! Two males and two females. The wattle birds are NOT happy and chase them out at every chance they get!
There has been a Koel in Lyneham every year for at least the past 3 years. Ours arrived early October some time.

I know they have been around for some time now and have been hearing them frequently in Deakin/Narrabundah, but they always seem to get to Fadden much much later than elsewhere
in Canberra. We've heard our first Koels here in the past few days, just over 2 weeks later than last year when the first was around 24 October but similar to 2015.
