You're lucky Martin, our currawongs chase anything that moves, including a very large Tiger Snake the other day - both took it in turns to hit the snake in the back of the head. One angry snake!

In early September a local observer reported sighting a Grey Goshawk in the Molonglo Valley.  She has advised it was a grey phase bird.  In mid-October another observer reported a Grey Goshawk "... almost completely white ..." from close to where the Molonglo hits the Hoskinstown plain.  So they are different birds.

This morning the Pied Currawongs at our place were kicking up a racket pursuing something across my GBS site.  It turned out to be an adult plumage Nankeen Night-Heron.  This is only the second GBS recording I have of the species.
