My house is under concerted attack by a Rufous Whistler! It can attack without warning at any time of the day. It can attack any window, depending on the position of the sun (which no doubt affects the reflection in the window). The Superb Fairy Wren, which is also attacking the windows, starts from the sill or a branch against the window but the Rufous Whistler starts from a metre or two away and strikes hard. I often do not hear the Wren but I hear the Rufous Whistler striking all day!
