Following on from David's obs these two male juvenile Gang Gangs were first introduced to our yard by their parents on 24th June and have been coming back on a fairly regular basis. Although they seem to be good at feeding themselves one of them was begging the other day and then fed by the adult male bird.
Their red head gear feathers are still the same as they were 6 weeks ago. How long does it take before they acquire their full adult plumage?

A couple of other obs, while I’m at it.  In recent days, I have observed:

·         A hybrid Eastern/Crimson Rosella paired with an Eastern R.  The hybrid was larger, like regular CRs, and had a normal coloured head and back, all red and blue.  But the cheek patches were a milky blue, and there was yellow under its belly.  The pair was with another pair of ERs.

·         A family group of Gang-gang Cockatoos with a mature male feeding a begging bird.
