Large flocks of YRT around here – Percival Hill and adjacent Ginninderra creek. Also several groups separate from the flocks and feeding young. Some young this morning in my GBS site.

At the ponds near Kingston Foreshore last Thursday (10th August) I watched a pair of Yellow Rumped Thornbills apparently feeding young.  They went on several occasions from parts of the little park to a specific part of a nearby tall tree not carrying nesting material and on one occasion, when quite close to me, carrying an insect.  I had no binoculars with me and couldn’t spot a nest so I cannot be absolutely sure that there was a nest or young.
