Could be.  There are two things at play here that can produce artifacts in videos, that is the frame rate and exposure time for each frame.  Looks to me here that the frame rate is indeed close to the flap rate of the sparrow, also the exposure time for each time was very short.  Had the exposure time been longer there would have been more blurring, which for watch-ability is usually good.  Camera settings needed to take sharp photos and watchable video are fundamentally different.
