A couple of days ago, at the AIS there was a male wood duck calling vociferously high in a eucalypt.  There was a group of 5 on the lawn underneath.  The male suddenly flew down, still calling, and attacked one of the other ducks.  Does this mean that the breeding season has begun for them and is that early?
