At the foot of one of the large eucalypts that line the western fringe of the 17th hole at West Belconnen golf course there is a pile of feathers showing where a sulphur crested cockie had met its end probably the night before. It got me thinking what could
have taken it. If it was roosting it would have to have been a raptor of some substance. If it was on the ground (unlikely at night I would think) a cat or fox could have been the perp. In any case there were only feathers and no carcass. My guess is that
it was taken from its perch with a cleanup done by fox or cat.
