A comparison of photos from last October (above) and last week (below) shows little change in the plumage of the hybrid honeyeater at JWNR following a post-breeding moult. The unusual iris colour is also stable. I have chosen these snaps
to illustrate use of different flowering plants according to season. No doubt the varied out-of-area plantings are responsible for year-round persistence at such locations of species (eg NHH) that might otherwise be nomadic. Same man-made effect occurs at
ANBG - and in Canberra gardens for that matter.
