Recently had a chance to witness a localized honeyeater/ lorikeet feeding frenzy in the iron-bark forest near Chiltern in northern Victoria.  Among the birds involved were Regent honeyeaters.  As many of you would know there is a recovery program going on there, with the release of captive breed birds.  The nature of the flowering event appeared to have attracted a number of these birds into a small area and it was great to watch them feeding, hawking for insects and generally carrying on chasing, and being chased by Red wattlebirds and Yellow-tufted Honeyeaters.

Difficult to film in tall trees  please enjoy the following https://vimeo.com/218932212

Enjoy

David
