Hi,

It is most interesting that the Superb Parrot is remaining in Canberra over the winter months. Before the ACT influx, birds were not recorded after February and then not seen again until the end of November and into December. Birds now arrive into the ACT earlier, breed here and some part of the population remains. Within the ACT birds are now being seen south of Lake Burley Griffin where previously their stronghold was the Belconnen and north Canberra area.

The reason for this email is my interest in finding out what the birds are feeding on as they overwinter in the ACT. Therefore, if anyone has sightings of Superb Parrots feeding from now through to the spring could they please record what they are feeding on and let me know.

Many thanks, Chris
