Walking or riding yesterday morning from the RSPCA along the path towards the Tuggeranong Parkway overpass must be one of the best places for autumn colour in Canberra.  All along the river the trees were heavily laden with all colours of leaves and the tree plantings along the track wear even more shades of red, apricot and yellow.

The trees were alive with small bird song which are hard to spot in the colour of the leaves.  One Little Pied Cormorant was sitting on a nest and nearby perched almost on the surface of the water was an immature Little Pied Cormorant and 3 immature Darter.
