Nice birds, odd place.

Today I had one of my many trips to Mugga lane tip. Most of my life lately is on house renovations and I rarely get time for bird watching. Just adjacent to the big cardboard recycling cage near the entrance there is a big grassed area, along what could just be a drain, when I was there at about 4 p.m. a flock of about 12 Double-barred Finches. Always nice to see, I think they are the cutest birds I know.  And a long time since I have encountered so many, and in a rather uninspiring place.
