Came across a male Rose Robin while doing my monthly surveys this afternoon.
First one I’ve seen up there for a few years, and not in the usual spot
(insofar as one exists).
The Pinnacle (like the rest of Canberra) is swamped with Grey Fantails and
Whistlers of both varieties at the moment. I can’t recall a year when I’ve seen
so many whistlers at one time. A large MFF I was watching yesterday had 8 (four
Golden and four Rufous) and there could well have been more, there were so many
birds about.
