Many thanks again to the six chat liners who have responded offering to help, with the assistance  of Steve Read and Prue Buckley/Steve Holliday we’ve narrowed it down to an ash, the exact species will need a bit of further research.

Subject: Tree identification

Hello subscribers,

Are there any tree experts out there that can identify a tree for me?  It was the main staging tree for the morning roost flight of the Red-rumped Parrot along Angophora St Rivett in 2016.

One feature that isn't shown is that it's not completely bare in winter, with the tassel-like foliage/leaves(?) providing good cover to make counting of the sometimes 50+ birds in there difficult.  I thought it might have been a
conifer at the time, but it's definitely deciduous.

I’ve tried a number of sources but keep drawing blanks.  Unfortunately I can’t send photos over the chat line as they’re too large, but if you think you can help I can forward them direct.

Many thanks

Jack Holland
