On 14 March a group of White-winged Choughs had  gathered in a tree, and next to where they were sitting they had plastered a small amount of mud to the branch. The mud was dry, and at that time only very little rain had fallen in the area. By 23 March, when I visited the area again, they had built  50% of a nest and were actively adding more material. No doubt, the more substantial rain of recent days had triggered the intense building activity.
