The autumn survey at Mt Ainslie was carried out by Michael Lenz on 19 March. The sky was overcast and wind light for the duration of the survey. Only 21 species were recorded over the 9 sites, and an additional 10 in between sites. Four of the 9 sites held only 3 species.  For the others numbers ranged from 6 to 13. The latter southern site with 13 species benefited from a few species out of a mixed feeding flock (MFF) entering it. A larger MFF was encountered at the northern end of the reserve, near the last survey site. Highlights, mostly outside sites, were Speckled Warblers (2x), Sittellas, Brown-headed Honeyeaters, White-throated Gerygones and  Brown Goshawk.
The highlight for me was a close encounter with a Red-necked Wallaby, not that often seen in this part of the reserve.

The weediness of the area has considerably increased, notably in the northern parts. Other areas are covered with a carpet of kangaroo droppings.
