Scarlet Robins have been in Carwoola for a few weeks.  The song is about the only way of identifying the males as, with their back to the observer, they are currently perfectly camouflaged!

I should have added that I also saw my first Scarlet Robin for the season there.  A male which was part of a very active mixed feeding flock (I was alerted by its call).  A smallish party of the 2 species of pardalotes was also seen moving through.  Jack Holland

First Golden whistlers for the season in the garden this morning, in Cook. In fact 3 at once having a sing-off, all grey birds.

Cheers
