Has anyone else seen, over the last couple of weeks, small birds in mixed-species flocks moving together through the bush? Is this a sign of breeding territories having broken down and mixed feeding flocks forming? An active flock at Bluett’s Block this morning contained at least 10 species, structured around Buff-Rumped Thornbills and Superb Fairywrens. A little earlier in the season than I had expected…
