Rosemary --

Rivers and wetlands are the lifeblood of so many incredible places in western NSW.

They provide habitat for hundreds of thousands of birds which thrive on the pulses of water flowing through otherwise dry landscapes.

Yet wetlands in the Murray-Darling Basin are at risk of receiving less water if the federal and state governments cave in to pressure from big agribusinesses and irrigators.

Take action today, on World Wetlands Day to stand up for the wildlife that relies on healthy wetlands.

 Wetlands Day - take action

The Murray-Darling Basin Authority has review the amount of water that is set aside for nature and proposes to drastically reduce the water available for the Macquarie Marshes and Gwydir Wetlands.

These wetlands are Ramsar listed and important habitat for many birds threatened with extinction. These special places need more water not less if they are to continue to provide shelter, particularly as our climate changes.

Please stand up for our wetlands today, so that these natural wonders will be there for the future.

For nature,

Daisy and Bev, and the Nature Conservation Council team
