Hi Jean

The two Little Eagles together at this location is an intriguing observation.

Late in the recent breeding season Michael Maconachie also reported two (and repeatedly singletons) observed from just down the road at Bibaringa. The nearest nest located this year (with the help of many observers) was at a fair distance from here (I guess 10 km to the Lands End nest) so it seems possible that there is another breeding pair whose nest is yet to be located in the Stromlo-Bibaringa-Kerrabee-Fairvale area.  (There was at least one nesting pair there many years ago with nests recorded at Lions Youth Haven and close to the Murrumbidgee at Fairvale, but I mean in recent years.)

Hopefully, in combination with many observations like yours, we will have a chance to locate an active nest in the area next August-September!  Thanks for this obs.

Cheers, Don Fletcher 0428489990
