Thanks Susanne, I had one in my neighbour’s tree round 8 am this morning, possibly my 4th for this season counting the one in Yarralumla.

This was a much darker bird compared with the two very light ones (possibly same but 400 m and a week apart) seen in Rivett earlier, but similarly quite mobile following its Red Wattlebird hosts for about 50 m and not heard since.  I had a RWB fledgling calling in my garden about 5 minutes later, I keep having to check the begging calls carefully to confirm the species.

Watched a Koel chick being fed by Red Wattlebirds just then. I heard it yesterday, but couldn't be sure.

Up to last week the Red Wattlebirds where still feeding Red Wattlebird juveniles.

Both male and female Koels are still calling every other day.

Susanne
