Zebra Finch

Like most long time domesticated birds the Zebra Finch has been bred into many strange forms. This is about as strange as any I have seen and not a nice look. They can also hybridise. I wonder if there is some Masked Finch parentage in there somewhere. I have seen those, showing that type of black face pattern. Though there is not much other signs of Masked Finch in it. But whoever had it didn’t put a ring on it. Maybe considered too ugly to carry forward.

Saw this Zebra finch at Jerra this evening. I don't know much about caged birds, but I guess this is an escapee.
