As I understand it, one issue with Ebird is that the standard Birdlife
20 minute 20ha surveys are, in terms of how the records are collated,
currently 'shifted' geographically to the hotspot coord which may be
located over a km away from where the 20 minute survey is actually done.
If the 2ha polygons can be accurately geocoded within a generic hotspot
area, then that would be a very significant improvement in terms of the
validity and reliability of the eBird data outputs.
