As I had been advised recently, the swamp is flooded, and it will be some time before it's possible to walk the tracks. Today I looked from various vantage points around the swamp, such as the Hooey Rd lookout. Lots of Whiskered Terns, several Magpie Geese,
a single Plumed Whistling duck. All the usual suspects, although I didn't spot a Glossy Ibis. An eBird list is at
There were Aust Bitterns reported late Nov, although Dec newsletter of the field nats says they've probably moved out into the rice crops by now. (latest newsletter is at
