Nine sites surveyed in three different areas of the park over a number of days. The grass is over knee high at a number of sites and seeding prolifically. Once again there was a lack of small birds at all sites, except one, which is probably
the site furthest away from houses. Of interest was a single Superb Parrot at two sites (the same individual). Superb Parrots have been regular summer residents in the old trees at the TV stations / Carotel sites in North Watson in the past couple of years,
but rarely in our survey sites. A number of Mistletoe birds were recorded over three sites. Shining Bronze Cuckoo, Western Gerygone and Leaden Flycatchers on a nest at one site and Speckled Warblers recorded at one other site. Sulphur Crested Cockatoos appeared
to be using large nest boxes at a site behind Hackett. 29 species recorded overall.
