Thanks to those who responded to my email.

Yes, I knew that I wouldn't really want rainbow lorikeets breeding here! 

What's the old saying? 'Be careful what you wish for'....

I think it was just excitement at seeing them in our own garden. I do admire their spirit, but not at the expense of our beautiful rosellas, red-rumps etc

Our nextdoor neighbour (well known bird authority) observed them again this morning with the male displaying. Dare we hope for a breeding pair somewhere close to home??
