A small but active flock of Rainbow Bee-eaters off Oakey Creek Road, Wallaroo,
Hall at 09.45 Friday morning in spite of its being overcast. The property I was
visiting was at the end of the bitumen
They, and several Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes were focussing on the area around
a large paddock eucalypt. The Bee-eaters would perch on sapling eucalypts
nearby as well as in the parent tree.
This place is perhaps 100m across paddocks from Oakey Creek where the
Bee-eaters have been noticed by neighbours in previous years.
