Saw today in lovely bosky surroundings. The owner of adjacent house is v chuffed ; has a brother who does bird watch thing on Dartmoor UK

Interesting thing is that the nest is in an oak tree, the frogmouths must have begun it before the leaves came out. They must have great confidence in their camouflage

there is a Tawny Frogmouth nesting at 9 Black Street, Yarralumla. The nest can easily be seen from the footpath. The nest is almost over the footpath/driveway of No 9 and is obvious especially from the west side (from the No 11 driveway). So far the residents of No 9 have only ever seen one bird - ditto on the two occasions I've look at it.
