Our backyard pair have been feeding a couple of chicks which are out of
the nest. There were three other Red Wattlebird nests not far from our
house and the timing for all four first broods appeared to be similar.
This afternoon I observed two Red Wattlebirds copulating in our backyard.
I assume they are the same ones which have been feeding the first brood.
I suppose they may be thinking that it is important to encourage the
Koels which have apparently just arrived in time for the Red Wattlebird
second broods.
I seem to recall another poster (Nathanial Coyne) mentioning something
similar recently.
