The word "not" could have been inserted in that heading. Usually the water recycling works here is home to several hundred waterfowl of up to 20 species. This afternoon there were somewhat
less than 100 (of which about 30 were fluffballs of 3 species Pacific Black Duck and Grey and Chestnut Teal)). Not a single Coot (up to 200 usual), Hoary-headed Grebe (200), Pink-eared Duck (150), Hardhead (100) or Shoveller (25).
What was very pleasing was finding a pedestrian gate has been installed (so we don't have to climb over the main gate when the waorkers aren't there, and a hide is being built. Well done
