Shorty and I watched it for quite some time this morning between 7:30 and 8am. It was perched in a wattle at the southern end of the wetland and was very approachable.

Without boasting about nailing the Apostlebird yesterday (mainly because it was Frances who spotted it) it was getting plenty of attention from Magpies, leading it to dash about a bit.  Perhaps it has gone somewhere the locals are more welcoming?

Although Spring doesn't start for another few hours from the time of starting typing some of the insects around Carwoola are already firing up.

Sadly I dipped on the Apostlebird this afternoon, but a nice consolation prize was flushing a Latham's Snipe.
