This pair of magpies have nested on top of an ACTEW transformer up a pole a couple of streets away from us. There is a least one young begging in the nest - it's head can just be seen between the left two foreground insulators. I thought it a bit strange that they had nested there, given the large number of suitable trees in the vicinity (Griffith). There is also a large untidy nest near the top of one of the high voltage power pylons on the median strip of Tuggeranong Parkway just south of the Cotter Road overpass. Couldn't see from the overpass what, if anything, was using it. Nick Payne Attachment:
